Driveline Services Australia Pty
Ltd is an importer, wholesaler and retailer of driveline
components, steering products and constant velocity joints.
Established in 1984, Driveline Services Australia sells its
products to the Australian wholesale and retail markets, supplying
industry leaders such as Burson Automotive, Coventry Auto Parts & Repco
Auto Parts.

“We’ve been growing well since
the company’s formation 18 years ago,” says Alex
Fites, General Manager of Driveline Australia. “We’re
predominantly a wholesaler/importer and cater to the Australian
wholesale market. We have three branches in Australia including
one in Mackay servicing the coal mining sector.”
“All of our branches are running
MomentumPro. We have been running Markinson software for about
15 years and we have grown enormously in that time. Markinson’s

workloads with confidence. “MomentumPro is bullet-proof.
We don’t have a problem and never really have had; that
has been MomentumPro’s trump card-always.”
“We have 8,000 plus stock lines to keep track of. We need
to know where they are, how much to sell them for, how to pick
them and how to get them out the door. It’s not impossible
without MomentumPro, but it’s extremely difficult. We could
function as a business; we just couldn’t sell, and selling
is our business,” says Fites. MomentumPro contains an advanced
set of Supply Management modules including Purchasing, Inventory,
Importing, Warehousing and RF.
“MomentumPro is critical to our business. If there were
three factors that influence our business, first would be our
staff, second would be our telephones as our customers have to
contact us, and third would be our computer system. Without all
three our business doesn’t function.”
Access to Information Improves Customer Service
“Having information available for a customer is the all
important factor for providing good customer service. When a
customer rings up, they typically want some form of information
whether it is the price of a product, the availability or the
timeframe for delivery. Information of that nature is something
that you have to be able to provide immediately,” says
Fites. MomentumPro allows system users to easily find the information
they need quickly through advanced search and inquiry capabilities.
MomentumPro is well suited to Driveline’s multi-location
business. According to Fites, “If an item is available
in another location or if there is a way to help a customer in
a speedier time frame, MomentumPro provides all the relevant
information we need at the click of a button. We could not function
effectively without it.”
MomentumPro Streamlines Importing
“We import 95 percent of our products, and as such, the Importing
Module in MomentumPro is a feature we have fully utilised. We
use duty codes to apply appropriate duty costs to a shipment
as well as apply the freight components. MomentumPro handles
everything from exchange rates and costing to lead times and
arrival dates,” says Fites.
The Importing Module in MomentumPro provides an efficient and
accurate system for entering, maintaining and receipting of international
inventory shipments. According to Fites, “The Importing
Module has further improved our customer service. We know when
shipments will be accessible and we are able to give the customer
that information instantly.”
“The Importing Module fully integrates into the General
Ledger. We load all payments, including TT Direct Deposits to
overseas suppliers, into MomentumPro. All payments are scheduled
out using MomentumPro. MomentumPro has increased the accuracy of our financials and increased productivity,” says Fites.
“We are using the reporting facilities in MomentumPro
to a larger degree now. Our staff want information, and they
want it in a presentable format,” says Fites. MomentumPro
provides advanced customisable reporting facilities. MomentumPro
also contains an extensive range of search and inquiry tools
that allow users to access the information they need when they
need it.
