Australian Software provider Markinson Business Solutions today announced the acquisition of Melbourne-based retail software solutions developer, Thomson Data Corporation (TDC).
Effective as of April 2nd, the acquisition is part of an ongoing corporate growth strategy that significantly strengthens Markinson’s competitive ability to serve the software needs of small to medium businesses.
In addition to a boost in revenue, resources and customers, the acquisition provides Markinson with a range of ShopkeeperTM retail management and point-of-sale offerings that complement Markinson’s existing MomentumPro™ ERP, business intelligence and eCommerce solutions for mid-sized retail/wholesale distribution business. The move also expands Markinson’s Melbourne presence.
“This is an exciting development for Markinson, the future of the MomentumPro and Shopkeeper product ranges and in particular, businesses that use these solutions,” said Markinson’s CEO, Ralph Hunt.
The Shopkeeper point of sale products will be further developed and will be available with an optional integration to MomentumPro Enterprise, neatly rounding the company’s product offerings to provide complete supply-chain inventory management, distribution and now point of sale functionality to mid-sized wholesalers, distributors and retailers.
“There is great harmony between the two organisations in terms of geographical spread, market focus and, in particular, the product range, with depth of inventory management functionality in MomentumPro and the product strengths in retail management and point of sale in Shopkeeper,” said Hunt.
With offices now in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth, Markinson will continue to focus upon serving mid-sized wholesale and distribution businesses across the Asia Pacific.
